Management app for energy saving operations on cruise ships.
As a part of the Ship Planner platform, we developed a management/sales tool for water conservation operations on ships.
During complexed water saving projects Solution Factory gives user the access to every project phase, notifies costs and deadlines, structures the project flow, regulates responsibilities and gives real time management.
Challenge
Correspondence and collaboration among project participants in in a water conservation field contains many roles and responsibilities that are not always defined. Also scheduling ship services, deliveries, updating costs – in one work project management- is usually pressured with lack of time and bad communication.
Solution
Solution Factory is a designed as a safe business environment guided by the set of specific regulations that each user must follow.
All the users – project participants- ship owners, managers, crew, solution providers have their accounts and access to project a flow dashboard where they collaborate by following already set standards.
With automatized steps and collaboration helped by Solution Factory manager/host we merged technology and human experience.
All the main activities are presented on a dashboard as a fully transparent business with clearly defined responsibilities for each and every user.

2.0 Design
User Research
Workshops with different departments in cruise line companies and meetings with many solution providers both software and hardware.
Estimating together with Ship Planner CEO costs and benefits for users on both sides (ship owners and operators).
User Flow
Creating a user flow was essential step for understanding all 3 perspectives of the potential users.
From starting the project to defining responsibilities and tracking costs was a long way.
Finding the intuitive design for users to easily engage into the collaboration and sign on necessary documentation gave a prefect project flow and transparent policy.

During the wireframe process my team expanded overseas and we started finalizing content and narrative together with Innovation Lounges Marketplace, Miami based office.
Legal parts of the project were defined in collaboration with several layer offices from Oslo, Norway.
3.0 Development

Collaboration with Developers:
Closely collaborate with the several development teams to ensure the design is implemented accurately.
This involves:
Providing detailed design specifications and assets
Participating in regular check-ins to address any questions or issues.
Ensuring the SOLUTION FACTORY is responsive and works well on various devices.
4.0 Testing
IN PROGRESS
Solution Factory will be available for use on App Store and for major cruise liners.
Data will be transferred via fire-walls from ship to shore and investigated by 3rd party IT team.
